The University at Buffalo Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is the largest orthopaedic practice in western New York. We proudly maintain a tradition of excellence, dating from the first orthopaedic course offered at the
University in 1886.
The department is comprised of four distinct divisions, located at four affiliated teaching hospitals in Buffalo, as well as the Orthopaedic
Research Laboratory and the Sports Medicine Institute, which are both located at the university's south (Main Street) campus.
